Phantom PHANTOM OF INFERNO NITRO ARCHIVE Characters Hub
Assassins, executives, and the civilian names they try to keep — mapped to Steam routes without dumping every late twist on the first screen.
Phantom PHANTOM OF INFERNO NITRO ARCHIVE is a single-player visual novel. You do not build a party. You play as one kidnapped tourist who Inferno remakes into an assassin, and the people around him decide whether the story stays a training diary, a corporate knife fight, or a long attempt to walk away. This hub is the roster map for the Steam build: the 2013 Windows port of the 2012 Xbox 360 remake, which uses the 2009 television designs and the same Japanese voice cast. Voices are Japanese only. Text can be English, Japanese, or Simplified Chinese.
Use these pages to learn who each name is before you lock a route, then jump to the walkthrough when a choice is about to close a door, and to the endings guide when you want the title card rather than the biography. If you would rather rank routes by tone instead of by heroine, the routes ranking sits next to this hub.
How Inferno numbers people
Inferno is the crime-world rumor that sits above ordinary cartels: a clearing house that other syndicates obey when they want the black market to keep functioning. Its public legend is the Phantom, a killer who leaves no usable evidence. Inside the organization the legend is a job title, and the people who wear it are products of a scientist who prefers German numbers to names.
Ein is subject one: already Phantom when the story opens, a sniper who can vanish into a crowd and who treats emotion as unused hardware. Zwei is subject two: a Japanese teenager snatched after he sees the wrong murder, memory-wiped, and trained until he can stand next to her. Cal Devens can become Drei, subject three, if Chapter 2’s flags stay intact. The numbering is not flavor text. It tells you who Scythe Master built, in what order, and how easily he will throw a finished weapon away.
Around those three stand the people who give orders instead of taking them. Claudia McCunnen is an Inferno executive with a Ferrari F40, a talent for making Zwei feel chosen, and a childhood friend named Lizzie Garland who actually carries the gun. Raymond McGuire is the quiet Colombian drug lord other executives obey. Isaac Wisemel runs the Bloodies out of Los Angeles and prefers brute force to Claudia’s manners. Scythe Master, born Helmut von Giuseppe, is the brainwashing scientist who thinks assassins should be manufactured rather than recruited. Mio Fujieda never joins Inferno. She is the classmate waiting in Japan, and the Godoh family secret sitting under her school uniform.
Who to open first
If you have not finished Chapter 1, read Zwei and Ein in that order. The opening hours are their story: a motel, a warehouse, a knife on sand, a first night when you either think about Ein or you do not. Claudia is already in the room, but her route is a fork, not the default. Cal does not exist yet. Mio is a name Zwei cannot remember.
If you already know the first chapter and you are hunting a specific ending, skip to the person who owns it. Ein’s late titles include Road of the Cerulean Sky. Claudia’s pair is From Atop the Hill and The Woman in the High Castle. Cal’s true close is Dusty Desert Trails. Mio’s only ending is Cherry Blossom Avenue. The endings guide lists the flags; these character pages explain why those flags feel like betrayals when you miss them.
Spoiler policy on this hub
This page stays light. It will tell you that Zwei’s real name is Reiji Azuma, because Claudia can hand that name back early and Steam even tracks a Reiji achievement. It will tell you that Ein can later be called Elen, because that is how Chapter 3 talks about her, but the investigation into where that name came from lives on her own page behind a marked heading. Cal’s transformation into Drei is stated because the game itself treats Drei as a public codename. Mio’s family tie to the Godoh group is stated because Chapter 2’s corporate plot already uses that name. Late shootouts, who dies in a hangar, and who walks into a desert town are left to the individual pages and to the walkthrough.
The official play movie above is the 360 remake footage NITRO PLUS posted before that version shipped. It is the same cast and the same anime-derived faces you see on Steam: Takagaki Ayahi as Ein, Irino Miyu as Zwei, Hisakawa Aya as Claudia, Sawashiro Miyuki as Cal, Koshimizu Ami as Mio, Chiba Isshin as Scythe, Watanabe Akeno as Lizzie, Chiba Susumu as Raymond, Ishikawa Hideo as Isaac. Watch it if you want voices and silhouettes without a choice guide.
Steam achievements tied to names
The Steam port lists 34 achievements. Several are simply character names: Ein, Zwei, Drei, Phantom, Reiji, Elen, Cal, Claudia, Mio, and Lizzie among them. The store page also shows entries such as A Present. This hub does not invent hidden unlocks. If an achievement is named after a person, assume it fires when the script spends time with that person, then confirm the overlay in your own language. Exact descriptions can differ between English and Japanese clients. For ending titles and CG completion, use the endings guide rather than guessing from a trophy icon.
Supporting cast you will meet anyway
You do not need a full page for every executive to finish the game, but you will hear these names on every route.
Scythe Master is the reason Ein has no childhood and Zwei has no yesterday. He is brilliant, theatrical, and convinced that a person with the right drugs and hypnosis is better raw material than a volunteer. When Inferno politics turn, he does not retire. He recycles.
Lizzie Garland is Claudia’s gunman and the closest thing the executive floor has to a conscience. She will drive, shoot, and argue with Claudia in the same afternoon. If you are on Claudia’s chapters, Lizzie’s last draw is a choice, not a cutscene.
Raymond McGuire rarely raises his voice. Other Inferno officers still clear a path. Isaac Wisemel is the opposite: Los Angeles muscle, the Bloodies, and the kind of gang war that turns a loft into a crater. Chapter 2’s harbor and warehouse scenes exist because those two men do not share Claudia’s interest in keeping Zwei intact.
How this wiki splits the work
Character pages answer who someone is, how they talk in the remake, and which route they own. The walkthrough answers what to click on a given night. The endings guide answers which title card you earned. The routes ranking answers which path is worth a second full read if you only have time for one. Start here when a name in a review is opaque. Leave here when you already know you want Ein’s church, Claudia’s hangar, Cal’s desert, or Mio’s schoolyard, and you only need the flags to reach it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for new Steam players and returning fans.
Which character page should I read first?
Read Zwei then Ein if you are still in Chapter 1. Open Claudia McCunnen when you start answering her invitations. Save Cal Devens for Chapter 2 and Mio Fujieda for the Japan chapter.
Does this hub spoil late endings?
No. It names routes and ending titles so you can find the right page. The individual character articles mark heavier identity twists. Full choice lists live in the walkthrough and endings guide.
Is the Steam cast the 2009 anime cast?
Yes. NITRO ARCHIVE matches the 2013 Windows port of the Xbox 360 remake: Bee Train television designs and the TV voice actors, including Takagaki Ayahi, Irino Miyu, Hisakawa Aya, Sawashiro Miyuki, and Koshimizu Ami.
Are there English voices on Steam?
No. Full audio is Japanese only. English and Simplified Chinese are interface and subtitle languages. The original 2000 PC release and the DVD-PG / PlayStation 2 casts are different recordings.
Do I need a page for Lizzie or Scythe?
To finish Chapter 1, no. For the remake roster, yes: Lizzie Garland sits next to Claudia, and Scythe Master owns the numbered products. Raymond McGuire and Isaac Wisemel remain summarized here.
Which Steam achievements are named after characters?
The 34-achievement list includes named entries such as Ein, Zwei, Drei, Phantom, Reiji, Elen, Cal, Claudia, Mio, and Lizzie. This wiki does not invent hidden unlock steps; confirm the in-game description when a name pops.
